Members attended a smolt trapping demonstration on the River Roe on Friday 22 May, hosted by the Loughs Agency. The event provided a useful opportunity to observe the trap in operation and to learn more about how smolt monitoring contributes to the management of local salmon and seatrout stocks. The club thanks the Agency for delivering an informative session and engaging with members on this important aspect of fisheries science.
