A significant amount of litter was noted at the bend at Nedd's, at the bottom of the Country Park section of the river, over the weekend.

The River Roe is a special fishery enjoyed by members and visitors alike. The continued goodwill of landowners and the reputation of our club depend on anglers respecting both the river and the surrounding countryside.

Members are reminded that the Company's Rules explicitly prohibit the leaving of litter on riverbanks or adjoining lands. Rule 6.13(d) states that it is forbidden to"leave litter on banks or adjoining lands, especially nylon". Failure to comply with the Company's Rules may result in disciplinary action.

Discarded fishing line, bait containers, drink bottles, food wrappers and other rubbish not only detract from the beauty of the river but can also pose a serious risk to wildlife, livestock and other river users.

We therefore ask all anglers to:

• Take all litter home with you.
• Remove and dispose of used fishing line responsibly.
• Leave parking and fishing areas in a clean condition.
• Consider picking up any litter you encounter where it is safe to do so.
