Members are advised that a number of sections of riverbank in the tidal section below the Plum (‘Counter’) have been identified as unsafe due to bank instability. Sections to avoid are above Laddies (Section 5; No.90) and at Humes (Section 6; No. 96) – see Fishing Area Maps available here: https://www.roeangling.com/river

These areas present a risk of collapse and must not be accessed.

Members are advised that:

- Fishing from, walking along or standing on these sections should be avoided

- Any member choosing to enter these areas does so at their own risk

DfI Rivers Agency has advised that stabilisation works at these locations will be carried out during 2026. Works above Laddies are expected to take place in the coming weeks, while works at Humes will be scheduled from September to avoid disturbance to nesting Sand Martins.

The safety of members remains a priority. Please stay clear of these sections at all times.
